Justin Bieber's rumored ex-girlfriend, Sahara Ray, has died at 34. She allegedly died in a hospital after a fentanyl overdose on Sunday, October 18.
Sahara Ray was an Australian model and swimwear designer. She was the daughter of Tony Ray, the Australian surfing legend. She attended the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles and eventually launched a swimwear brand, Sahara Ray Swim.
However, she has now died, as confirmed by her family. They gave a statement to TMZ on Monday that read:
"She passed away last night surrounded by family at the hospital. She was so loved."
They didn't reveal a cause of death, but Page Six reports that she died due to a fentanyl overdose. She was taken to the hospital on Friday, but due to her struggles, her family made the decision to pull her off life support.
Apart from her modelling and swimwear business, Ray garnered attention in 2016 when she was rumored to be dating Justin Bieber. She also shared a picture of herself and Bieber vacationing in Hawaii on Instagram in August 2016.
More recently, she used Justin Bieber's song, EVERYTHING HALLELUJAH, in the background of an Instagram post. It was her first post with her daughter, Snow, who was born in January this year. She wrote in the caption:

Sahara Ray's last Instagram post was also a carousel post with three images of her daughter, Snow, as she wrote in the caption:
"My whole heart 🤍 baby Snow"
Ray's mother, Gretchen Gia Bach, revealed in March that the late model is raising Snow in Los Angeles. The father's identity, meanwhile, hasn't been publicly revealed.

In 2024, Sahara Ray revealed that she was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome. She said that she had a car accident, which triggered the syndrome. She explained (h/t news.com.au):
“Right now I’m paralysed from the tops of my upper thighs all the way down to my feet. I can’t walk at all. I am primarily in a wheelchair and I have a walker. So I haven’t been on Instagram and I haven’t been on TikTok because I’ve been pretty depressed obviously."
“This is really hard to deal with, I’ve been trying to keep a good attitude and be hopeful that my feeling comes back, but there’s always a chance it just stays like this. I’m really hoping and praying that I get to walk again someday,” she added.
She further explained how the accident led to her struggles with the syndrome and said:
“It basically sent my body into shock, which sent my body into this crazy sickness. I got really, really sick for like a week and a half to two weeks. During that time I barely ate any food because I couldn’t keep it down and my body got really weak.”
According to Mayo Clinic, in Guillain-Barré syndrome, the "body's immune system attacks the nerves." It can cause "weakness, numbness, or paralysis."
