Anchored by an unyielding staff of nurses and doctors, the next hour of the day will play out on "The Pitt" Season 2, Episode 2.
The acclaimed medical drama returned for its second season on Thursday, Jan. 8, just days before taking home the top television prize at this year's Golden Globe Awards.
The next episode — and next hour of the 15-hour Independence Day shift — will transpire when the second episode airs on HBO Max on Thursday, Jan. 15.

Beloved charge nurse Dana Evans (Katherine LaNasa) has returned after some time away; despite expressing a desire to retire after being assaulted by a patient last season, she inevitably found her way back to holding down the day shift.
As for another faced with an uncertain future after last season, Dr. Frank Langdon (Patrick Ball) is back in the premiere after a stint in rehab for stealing drugs from the hospital.
Last season's newbies in the department — Dr. Mel King (Taylor Dearden), Dr. Trinity Santos (Isa Briones), Dr. Dennis Whitaker (Gerran Howell) and Dr. Victoria Javadi (Shabana Azeez) — have reemerged more experienced and confident than ever, led by the team's two returning residents — Dr. Samira Mohan (Supriya Ganesh) and Dr. Cassie McKay (Fiona Dourif).
