In recent months, fast food chains including Chipotle and Olive Garden have launched menus designed for customers using the category of weight loss medications

Shake Shack is updating its menu to include classics moderated for the rise in GLP-1 culture.

Just before 2026, the popular burger chain announced its Good Fit Menu, which includes six items that put a healthy spin on the classics without the "guess work." The items are made with up to 52g of protein per serving.

According to the company's website, the Single ShackBurger, the Chicken Shack, the Double SmokeShack, the Double Veggie Shack and the Double Avocado Bacon Burger will be available in lettuce wraps. Another item is the Gluten-Free Double ShackBurger which, like its name suggests, comes prepared on gluten-free buns.

The new menu, available to order online and at locations nationwide, was curated to provide "easy modifications from Shake Shack’s core menu" and made to meet customers' various lifestyles, whether that be "dialing up protein, cutting back, or simply eating with more intention."

Shake Shack's Good Fit options fit into the Cleveland Clinic's suggested diet for GLP-1 users. What to prioritize at the table? Protein and fiber-packed meals without refined carbs. Although, the medical center states that hight-fat foods like fried chicken, or process foods can worsen the side effects of the medication.

GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic, Zepbound, Wegovy and Mounjaro have been on the rise as a treatment for weight loss among other health conditions such as diabetes. It has been especially prevalent in the celebrity world, with everyone from Oprah Winfrey to Serena Williams opening up about their use of GLP-1s.

In October 2025, data from polling giant Gallup recorded a 37% drop in Americans who qualified as “obese," the statistic previously hitting 40% in 2022.

The data also found that, as obesity rates dropped, the number of Americans who said they took GLP-1 medications for weight loss skyrocketed. Since last year alone, usage of the drugs has more than doubled, going from 5.8% in February 2024 to 12.4%.

The survey, which polled 16,946 Americans, also found that diabetes diagnoses are up, with type 1 and type 2 hitting an “all-time high” as 13.8% of respondents said they have been diagnosed with the disease, and 14.1% with diabetes said they were taking a GLP-1 for weight loss.

Other fast food chains have adapted protein-focused menus along with the shift in the latest lifestyle trends. On Dec. 18, Chipotle launched its High Protein Menu with a focus on macronutrients, while Starbucks debuted its Protein Lattes and Protein Cold Foam (with 36 grams of protein per grande beverage) in September.
