Natalie Harp, President Donald Trump's aide who has been in the spotlight after the president chose her to accompany him during his clandestine escape from Air Force One in Turkey last month, took on duties from Dan Scavino, a top Trump staffer, while Trump and his aides watched then-Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2024 convention speech.
A clip from the 2024 Apple TV documentary The Art of the Surge caught Harp in action, rapidly taking dictation from Trump as he composed a Truth Social post targeting Harris.
Harp told President Trump she never wants to bring him "anything but joy" in her alleged intimate letters.

In recent months, the 35-year-old executive assistant has become one of the most visible and powerful figures in the 80-year-old president's inner circle. However, speculation surrounding Harp's closeness with Trump has grown after New York Times journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan claimed in their 2026 book, Regime Change, that she had penned private letters to him.
In one alleged message, the "ever-present" Harp is said to have written to the president, "I never want to bring you anything but joy" and "You are all that matters to me." In others, she reportedly claims she is "unworthy" of him, adding, "I don't want to ever let you down."

The two letters, which have been obtained by The Daily Beast, were written in 2023, either during or after Harp accompanied Trump on his May 2023 golfing trip to his courses in Aberdeen and Turnberry, Scotland, and Doonbeg, Ireland. She was 31 at the time, while Trump was 76.
One of the letters is an apology. "I'm sorry," she writes. "I thought I was the only one left behind last night, and had no idea Margot's car was also pulled over, and sent back to the Airport," referring to White House communications advisor Margot Martin, who was on the trip.

"Since I was alone in the van outside Customs, without my passport, I panicked, and should have just called Secret Service instead of you," she wrote. Harp, who earned herself the nicknamed "human printer," also apologized for walking on the course, rather than riding in a cart, which was confirmed in photos.
"If there is anything else I have done to cause you trouble, please forgive me," she continued. "I want things to always be right between us. I also know I've been distracted all week (forgetting to eat throughout the days, and even forgetting to sleep, and only catching a couple hours at a time)."

She then opened up about letting other people's remarks upset her, "not because I care what other people think, but because I see myself being lowered in your eyes and good opinion. That is the fear you see, because I never want to bring you anything but joy."
At one point, Harp also thanks Trump for being "my Guardian and Protector in this life."
In her second alleged letter, which is more intimate, she thanks Trump for forcing her to "unplug." Harp even tells the president she is envious of women "whose only job seems to be to talk with you and look pretty."
