Meg Donnelly exclusively reveals to PEOPLE what she and her Zombies costar Milo Manheim immediately bonded over when they met nearly a decade ago
“We're always there and supporting each other,” she said of their sweet friendship
The actress also reflected on making her Broadway debut in Moulin Rouge! The Musical shortly after Manheim made his debut in Little Shop of Horrors
Meg Donnelly and Milo Manheim are friends for life.
While speaking with PEOPLE ahead of her performance with the LEGO Group at the 2025 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the 25-year-old actress reflected on how far she and her Zombies costar, 24, have come in accomplishing their dreams of being on Broadway while maintaining their sweet friendship.
“It's so wild,” Donnelly said. “When we were doing Zombies — and we were both children — we would talk about how we bonded over theater. That's what we had in common. That was like our main common point that we bonded over when we first met.”
“It's just so wild that now we're doing the things that we talked about when we were younger, because we both were always talking about … we always wanted to just do Broadway and do musicals and do stage and somehow we both ended up here.”

Noting that it’s “insane” that she ended up making her Broadway debut in Moulin Rouge! The Musical shortly after Manheim made his debut in Little Shop of Horrors alongside fellow child star Liz Gillies, Donnelly went on to explain that she and Manheim seem to have an invisible string that connects them.

“I feel like we somehow always end up in the same place,” she admitted. “He's in New York now, so it ends up always working out. When I'm in L.A., he's in L.A.”
Although the two often find themselves crossing paths, Donnelly emphasized that the entire Zombies cast still makes an active effort to keep in touch amid their busy schedules.
“We'll FaceTime here and there and whenever any of us are doing something that we care about, we will always show up and support,” she explained. “Milo and I especially, like, we're always there and supporting each other. But even just the whole cast, there's so many people in all the Zombies movies and everyone is just so supportive and we always show up for one another.”
“We’re like family,” she added. “It really feels like that. Even though we're all spread out and even if we don't talk every day, we're always there supporting each other and it's just really special. Especially with Milo, but that goes without saying.”
