The love stories in Outlander transcend time and space, but here in the 21st century, many of the cast members have found the one.
Based on Diana Gabaldon’s book series of the same name, Outlander centers on Claire Randall (Caitríona Balfe), a World War II nurse who is mysteriously transported to 17th-century Scotland, where she meets and falls in love with Highland warrior Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan). What follows is an epic romance spanning centuries and continents, set to conclude in the upcoming eighth and final season.
Over the years, the historical drama has introduced several other relationships fans have come to love, with even more explored in the prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood.
Off-screen, most of the cast is single, though a few actors have real-life romances that rival those of their characters.

During a May 2023 interview with PEOPLE, Heughan said he’s a “romantic at heart,” but admitted that he’s “still looking” for his real-life Claire.
He’s also been candid about how dating has taken a backseat to his career.
"Certainly, relationships are hard when you're working in Scotland 10 months a year," the actor told Inquirer in January 2020.
"I travel a lot and any downtime I have, I'm trying to do other projects, so very much, my career comes first. Maybe I will find someone eventually,” he continued.

She and McGill quietly wed in August 2019 with only close friends and family present.
“The only thing I would say about my wedding is, I managed to squeeze it in on a weekend during production,” she told The Philippine Daily Inquirer in February 2020.
She continued, adding of her husband, “I feel lucky that I’ve also found someone who makes me very happy. As long as I can keep those two things going well, then I’ll be good.”
After keeping her pregnancy secret, Balfe welcomed a son in August 2021.
She announced his birth on Instagram, writing alongside a black-and-white photo of the newborn’s fingers wrapped around hers, “We are so grateful for this little soul ….that he chose us as his parents. I’m in awe of him already and can’t help stare and wonder at all the possibilities of who he will become.”
