Margaret Qualley embraced understated elegance in a striking Chanel look while attending the New York special screening of “Love of Your Life.” The 31-year-old actress stepped onto the blue carpet in a sleek black gown. While the dress looked classic from the front, it revealed a dramatic surprise on the back.
Her slinky open-back dress featured an eye-catching floral accent suspended by delicate metal chains. Consequently, the unique detail gave the timeless little black dress a modern twist.

Margaret Qualleywore Look 78 from Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel Fall/Winter 2026 Ready-to-Wear collection. The long-sleeved black dress featured a modest boat neckline and a fluid silhouette that skimmed her frame before falling to her ankles.
While the front remained clean and minimalist, the back plunged dramatically to reveal an open design. A handmade black silk-petal camellia by Maison d’art Lemarié rested across the upper back, attached with two slender metal chains that created the dress’s signature string-like detailing. The Chanel “Long Dress” in black mixed fibers retails for $13,750.

She completed the monochromatic ensemble with Aquazzura’s So Nude Sandal 105 in black suede, priced at $850. The minimalist two-strap sandals featured slim stiletto heels that perfectly complemented the gown’s refined silhouette without distracting from its statement back.
Margaret kept her accessories equally understated with Chanel Coco Crush Hoop Earrings in 18K white gold. The quilted-motif hoops added just the right amount of sparkle while maintaining the polished aesthetic.
The actress swept her dark hair into a neat updo, allowing the dramatic open-back detail to remain fully visible. Her makeup featured softly defined brows, winged eyeliner, fluttery lashes, rosy blush, and natural pink lips with a satin finish. A black manicure echoed the all-black styling and completed the sophisticated beauty look.
Margaret was joined at the screening by director Rachel Morrison and co-star Aaron Pierre as they celebrated Love of Your Life at New York’s IFC Theater.
