The Studio, which premiered in March 2025, was a big winner at the 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards back in September. The show scored a record-breaking 13 awards, including for Outstanding Comedy Series. Seth Rogen, who co-created, wrote, directed and stars in the Apple TV series, joked he was "legitimately embarrassed by how happy this makes me" while accepting the trophy.
"And to be standing up here with all these people — these are the best people I know," said Rogen, 43, who nabbed the award for outstanding lead actor in a comedy series. "And to have them spend their days with me, working with me, is truly one of the great honors of my life."
The Studio, which also won big at the 2026 Golden Globes in January, follows Rogen’s Matt Remick, who heads a fictional Hollywood movie studio that’s under pressure. Guest stars in the first season have included Dave Franco, Zoë Kravitz, Martin Scorsese, Ice Cube and Adam Scott. As Rogen told PEOPLE previously, they were all cast in roles written specifically for them.
"It was all about the stories of the episodes and kind of who served the various storylines and it was pretty specific for the most part," he said. "We would write it to our idealized version of who we could get maybe, and we very often got those people, which was shocking."
Rogen added, "People in general are pretty cool to make fun of themselves and Hollywood and seem to get the joke, which was nice."
