The pair first met 43 years ago during a Playgirl magazine cover shoot early in their acting careers
PEOPLE confirmed the relationship on April 10 amid reports that Locklear and Lamas have been dating for months
Lorenzo Lamas is gushing over his relationship with Heather Locklear.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, published on Wednesday, April 29, the Renegade alum, 68, opened up about finding love with the actress, 64, more than 40 years after they first met posing together on the cover of Playgirl magazine.
"The short answer is no," Lamas told the outlet when asked if he thought this would happen. "I mean, I’ve been through a lot of trial and error, and she is the most amazing woman that I think I’ve ever met."

His comments come days after he and Locklear made their first public appearance as a couple at the 2026 Chiller Theatre Expo in New Jersey on April 26. They were pictured smiling and cozying up at the horror and sci-fi convention, both wearing all-black ensembles.
A friend of the Melrose Place star confirmed the romance to PEOPLE on April 10. According to TMZ, which first reported the news and published photos of the couple together in Las Vegas, Locklear and Lamas have been dating for months.
At the time, TMZ also reported that sources said the pair’s adult children from previous relationships were meeting that weekend.

Locklear shares daughter Ava Sambora, 28, with ex-husband Richie Sambora, whom she was married to from 1994 to 2007. She was previously married to Tommy Lee from 1986 to 1993 and engaged to Chris Heisser for five years before they split in May 2025.
Lamas has six children — he shares son A.J., 42, and daughter Shayne, 40, with the late Michele Smith, whom he was married to from 1983 to 1985; his daughter Paton, 37, is from his relationship with Daphne Ashbrook, whom he dated from 1986 to 1988; and he welcomed daughters, Alexandra, 28, Victoria, 26, and Isabella, 25, with ex-wife Shauna Sand, whom he was married to from 1996 to 2002.
The actor was also married to Victoria Hilbert from 1981 to 1982; Kathleen Kinmont from 1989 to 1993; Shawna Craig from 2011 to 2018; and Kenna Scott from 2023 to 2025.

When Locklear and Lamas met at the 1983 Playgirl shoot, they were at the beginning of their careers, with her appearing in Dynasty and him in Falcon Crest. In December, Lamas reflected on the iconic cover, which he posted to X.
“I cannot believe that this was 43 years ago! Side note, speedos on request only #HeatherLocklear #Playgirl #80s,” he wrote in the caption.
