Lindsay Lohan recreated an iconic scene from her 2004 hit Mean Girls on Saturday.

In the film, Lohan’s Cady Heron has a now-infamous exchange with her crush, Jonathan Bennett’s Aaron Samuels, in which she tells him the date — Oct. 3.

This Oct. 3, Lohan, Bennett, and their costar Tim Meadows all took to social media to celebrate the unofficial holiday, Mean Girls Day.

It’s Mean Girls Day. How are you celebrating?

Lindsay Lohan, Jonathan Bennett, and Tim Meadows all had a plan.

For fans of the classic teen dramedy, time has only given the once innocuous date of Oct. 3 more and more meaning. Deep into her crush on Bennett’s Aaron Samuels in the film, Lohan’s Cady Heron rejoices when, in class, Aaron turns around to ask her the date. “It’s October 3rd,” she replies.

This Oct. 3, Lohan led the Mean Girls nostalgia offensive on social media by recreating the now-iconic scene.

In the video posted to her X account on Saturday, Lohan assumed the position in a desk behind her “crush” — this time played by Mean Girls director Mark Waters.

“On Oct. 3, he asked me what day it was,” Lohan says in voiceover piped directly in from Mean Girls. “It’s Oct. 3,” she tells Waters, before they both erupt with laughs.

Lohan and Waters’ being together on the unofficial holiday fans have designated to celebrate Mean Girls isn’t coincidental.

On Monday, news broke that Lohan and Waters will officially reteam for a new movie at Netflix, which is set to costar Crazy Rich Asians’ leading man, Henry Golding. Return to You will feature Lohan as a “powerful but lonely attorney” who “mistakenly receives a very emotional DVD from a dying woman addressed to her husband.”

Bennett shared his own Mean Girls Day skit on Saturday from the Good Morning America set. In the video shared to his Instagram, Bennett simply steps toward the camera and asks, “What day is it?” It was the caption of the post that sent fans into a commenting frenzy, with its prompt: “How many people can I get to answer me for Mean Girls Day?”

Meadows’ tribute was more elaborate. In a somber tone and direct to camera, Meadows noted in a TikTok, “Sometimes it’s not easy to admit when you need help. It happened to me 20 years ago but it feels like it was just yesterday. Every Oct. 3 is a reminder of her — Regina George.”

Michigan-based personal injury attorney Mike Morse then gets in on the fun, announcing that if anyone has “ever felt personally victimized” by Rachel McAdams’ titular mean girl, “you may be entitled to compensation.”
