Landman still has plenty of gas left in the tank.
The hit Paramount+ series, created by Taylor Sheridan, was renewed for a third season in December 2025. Landman's momentum only accelerated with season 2, which delivered the biggest season or series premiere in Paramount+ history, pulling in 9.2 million views worldwide in its first few days, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Inspired by the 2019 Texas Monthly podcast Boomtown, the series centers on Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton), a sharp-tongued landman navigating high-stakes oil deals, volatile power players and fractured family relationships as fortunes rise and fall in the Permian Basin.
“We barely skimmed the surface in season one and, after season two, I feel like we’re still just skimming the surface,” showrunner Christian Wallace told The Hollywood Reporter in November 2025.

Yes! Landman was officially renewed for a third season on Dec. 5, 2025, while season 2 was still just three episodes in.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Wallace made it clear he believes the series has staying power.
"This world is so rich — West Texas, oil and gas, Fort Worth, the upstairs downstairs of this whole thing. It’s such fertile soil for storytelling. There’s a lot of runway left," he shared.
In November 2025, Thornton told USA Today that he had signed on for “four or five” years of Landman, adding that he'll stay "for as long as they'll have me."
What will Landman season 3 be about?

An official synopsis for Landman season 3 has not been released.
That said, season 2 ended with Tommy's sudden firing from M-Tex at the hands of Cami (Demi Moore). In the finale, he formed his own company, CTT Oil Exploration and Cattle, with T.L. (Sam Elliott), Cooper (Jacob Lofland), Nathan (Colm Feore), Rebecca (Kayla Wallace) and Dale (James Jordan) by his side.
The next chapter is expected to follow the immediate fallout, tracking how the new company — which is being financially backed by cartel leader Gallino (Andy Garcia) — impacts Tommy’s power within the oil world.
Who is returning for Landman season 3?

Thornton will return as Tommy after previously signing on for multiple seasons of Landman. He’ll be joined by Ali Larter, who plays Tommy’s ex-wife, Angela.
“So excited to announce we are coming back for season 3! Thank you to the fans that have made Landman such a massive success,” Larter wrote on Instagram. “Honored to work on this show with such exceptional actors and crew. Heart is full.”
Wallace, who portrays Rebecca, also confirmed her return on Instagram, writing, “BEST NEWS! THANK YOU to everyone who’s watched, supported and loved our show!”
While Paramount+ hasn't announced an official cast list, several fan favorites are expected to be back, including Elliott as T.L., Garcia as Gallino, Moore as Cami, Michelle Randolph as Ainsley, Lofland as Cooper and Paulina Chávez as Ariana.

Season 2 of Landman arrived roughly a year after the debut season, and Wallace has indicated he expects the show to maintain a similar release cadence moving forward.
"I think it’s the plan. We hate to make people wait too long, and we’re all excited to get back and do it again," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "After we wrap, a couple weeks later, we’re like, 'Dang, I miss everybody' — cast and crew."
