Jason Kelce has admitted coaching is likely something he'd enjoy, but has closed the door on that move for now while under contract with ESPN.

The Philadelphia Eagles legend retired after the 2023 season, spending 13 years in the league as one of the best centers in NFL history. Kelce has since moved to a role in the media, being an analyst on ESPN and Monday Night Football, while also having his own podcast with his brother, Travis Kelce.

He reportedly signed a three-year, $24 million deal with ESPN in 2024, having another year on his contract, which is sure to be extended. However, he has admitted that a career in coaching is something that interests him — but perhaps not right now.

Speaking on The SZN with former Eagles teammates Nick Foles and Evan Moore, Kelce said: "I think coaching would be something that’d be a lot of fun, and I’d get a lot of enjoyment out of that.

“But the thing that really steered me away from that is just the time commitment and being away from the family.

"And I went into media thinking I’d have more time with the family.

"Like, those guys are still there more frequently, but I am not not busy. I am definitely keeping my schedule full. I think that’s honestly helping in retirement."

Kelce has four children with his wife, Kylie, who has also become a podcast star in recent years — with the family's stardom growing amid Travis' marriage to Taylor Swift.

It is not the first time that Kelce has opened the door to coaching, being quoted last year as stating: "I would love to coach.

"I love staying connected to the game in a competitive way, involved in the Xs and Os.

“It would feel wrong to have all this experience and knowledge that I’ve gained and disconnect completely.”

Kelce had an opportunity to rejoin the Eagles as offensive line coach this offseason after legendary figure Jeff Stoutland left the team, where he could have worked with a number of his former teammates.

However, he did not take up the role.

Kelce is set for another big role on ESPN this season, after ESPN took over control of the NFL Network and many of its analysts moved across its shows.
