Hilary Duff's husband Matthew Koma is speaking out amid claims his wife is apart of a "toxic mom group."
On Thursday, Jan. 1, former Disney Channel star Ashley Tisdale released an essay in The Cut titled, "Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group." In the piece, she details joining â and leaving â a friend group of moms in Los Angeles following the birth of her first daughter in 2021.
Tisdale compared her experience in the group to the emotional âechoes of high school,â saying she and another mom were repeatedly excluded without explanation. In particular, she alleged that the group planned a girls hang out on the same day as her daughter's birthday.
Eventually, Tisdale confronted the moms about excluding her before deciding to leave the clique entirely.
âTo be clear, I have never considered the moms to be bad people. (Maybe one)," she wrote.

The actress never named the women she was talking about, but internet sleuths deduced she was likely referring to a group of celebrity moms that included Duff, Mandy Moore, and Meghan Trainor, among others.
On Tuesday, Jan. 6, Koma appeared to defend his wife on his Instagram Story by posting a recreation of Tisdale's magazine cover.
In the snap, he poses similarly to Tisdale, and a fake headline reads, "When You're The Most Self Obsessed Tone Deaf Person on Earth, Other Moms Tend to Shift Focus to Their Actual Toddlers."
"Read my new interview with @thecut," the singer-songwriter captioned the post.
Earlier on Jan. 6, Tisdale's representative told TMZ that the piece was not about Duff or the other celebrity mom speculated to be in the group. They also denied rumors the falling out was over politics, saying Tisdale is a registered Democrat â just like the women believed to be in the mom group.
Duff and the other accused moms have yet to publicly address the controversy.
