After *Survivor 50* aired its premiere episode on Wednesday, fans were confused when no official podcast from Jeff Probst appeared in their feeds.

For the past several seasons, Probst has hosted a companion podcast, *On Fire With Jeff Probst*, which ordinarily drops weekly episodes that recap each episode of the CBS reality competition show.

However, *On Fire With Jeff Probst* won't return in its usual form for *Survivor 50*, ** has learned, as CBS is taking a different approach to promote the show's milestone 50th season. The network will reveal further details in the coming weeks.

"*Survivor 50* was designed as a celebration, and it features one of the most exciting game designs we've ever done," Probst said in a statement. "Because of that, we made a conscious decision not to immediately pull back the curtain while it was happening."

Probst continued, "We wanted fans to discover it on their own and experience it in real time. Then at the live finale, we'll have the opportunity to reflect on all parts of the season together."

*On Fire* began in 2023 during season 44 of *Survivor*, and came back with season 38 player Rick Devens as the podcast's first cohost, breaking down season 45. Later, *Survivor 45* winner Dee Valladares became the cohost to unpack season 46, and season 46 runner-up Charlie Davis cohosted the pod during *Survivor 47*.

Rachel LaMont, the winner of *Survivor 47*, continued the trend as the cohost analyzing season 48, and *Survivor: Cambodia* champ Jeremy Collins took over during season 49.

Probst recently told EW that the latest season of the show is "the most fun I've ever had on a season of *Survivor*,"noting two particular factors that led to his glowing endorsement.

"The fact that the fans decided the type of gameplay, because that created uncertainty in a way that it didn't really matter what they decided," he explained. "The point was they were the ones in charge of deciding. So the players had no idea what was coming."

The host continued, "The second reason it's the most fun I've ever had on any season of *Survivor* is because every single player fully embraced that uncertainty and played very hard. They left everything they had in them in the jungles of Fiji."

Probst also said that he noticed a shift in the attitudes of the show's returning competitors.

"This is the only returning player season where the players had real joy and gratitude for being invited back," he said. "And that's not a slam on other seasons. We invite players back because we like what they bring to the game. And that doesn't mean that everybody behaves in the same way. We like the mixture. This just so happened to be this beautiful storm of opportunity and gratitude, and you felt it."
