David and Victoria Beckham have returned to social media for the first time since their son Brooklyn Peltz Beckham dropped a bombshell Instagram post about their current family drama.
On Wednesday, Jan. 21, both David, 50, and Victoria, 51, took to Instagram to wish some of their close friends a happy birthday in posts on their Stories.
Victoria celebrated her fellow Spice Girl Emma Bunton’s 50th birthday, sharing a throwback snap and clip from their time in the girl group.
The first post saw Victoria giving Emma a piggyback ride as they smiled at the camera. “Happy birthday @emmaleebunton. I love you so much!!” the fashion designer captioned the black-and-white photo.

The couple’s return to social media comes after son Brooklyn, 26, shared six slides on his Instagram Stories on Monday detailing his ongoing issues with his parents and claimed that they have been trying “endlessly to ruin” his relationship with his wife, actress Nicola Peltz Beckham, with the issues starting before their 2022 wedding in Palm Beach.
"I have been silent for years and have made every attempt to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed," he began the series of lengthy posts.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family,” he continued, adding, “I’m not being controlled. I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
Brooklyn went on to say that his family “values public promotion and endorsements above all else” and that “Brand Beckham comes first.”

He claimed that he and Nicola, 31, had “gone out of our way for years” to support his family at events and fashion shows, “but the one time my wife asked for my mum’s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.”
Other accusations included claiming Victoria had “hijacked” his and Nicola’s first wedding dance and “danced very inappropriately on me” and canceled Nicola’s wedding dress at “the eleventh hour.”
“I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life,” he added of the dance.
He also said his family told him Nicola was "not blood" and "not family."
The posts came after months of speculation about a rift in the family.
After Brooklyn and Nicola were absent from David’s 50th birthday celebrations in May 2025, a source told PEOPLE that the couple were invited and that it was unclear why they weren't present.
In his post, Brooklyn claimed that he and Nicola traveled to London for David's birthday and were "were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him."
"He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner. When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited. It was a slap in the face. Later, when my family travelled to LA, they refused to see me at all," he wrote.

"The relationship is definitely not beyond repair," an insider told PEOPLE at the time of the celebrations. "They love and are always there for [Brooklyn]. They’re just hurt and disappointed that he’s now playing no part in family life."
Amid the family's ongoing rift, a source with knowledge of the situation told PEOPLE earlier in January, “David and Victoria have repeatedly asked Brooklyn and Nicola to meet and talk in order to move forward."
"David loves his kids," the source added of sons Brooklyn, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and daughter Harper, 14. "They are his everything."

Following Brooklyn's shocking statement, a source close to the situation told PEOPLE that Brooklyn and Nicola "never wanted any of this" and are "sick of it."
"They just wanted to quietly live their lives and be married but after reading enough of the relentless inaccuracies about Nicola, a family member had had enough and wanted to set the record straight last year," the insider said.
"And then the Beckhams had plenty of time to make amends and try and fix the damage and instead they continued to push these false narratives, and Brooklyn and Nicola are just sick of it. Brooklyn knows his truth and was ready to speak it," they added.
