The holidays were supposed to be all about love for The Voice alum Jay Allen, who got engaged to his girlfriend, Renée Lynn, over Christmas. But fans quickly had questions, since the engagement comes just seven months after Allen finalized his divorce from fellow country singer Kylie Morgan.
Allen and Morgan were married for two and a half years and initially described their separation as amicable. Reflecting on the split, Allen shared at the time, “I was on a journey of sobriety, healing, growing, leaning into God and I've moved on.”
However, in a new social media post, Allen provided a more detailed account of the breakup, citing issues of infidelity, betrayal and lack of support for his sobriety.
"To set the record straight...my ex had an affair on ME, and that was why we got divorced," he wrote. "I found out in the fall of 2024, and that it was happening behind my back, in my home."
Allen explained that challenges in the marriage predated the affair. "I was already unhappy as she did not support my sobriety and was obviously trying to hide something, but this gave me a reason to move on," Allen added.

Some social media users speculated that Allen’s new relationship might have begun during his marriage. Addressing these rumors, Allen emphasized the importance of transparency and integrity, sharing a clear timeline of his relationship with Renée.
Allen says he first met Renée years ago, but their relationship picked up again in February 2025, a day after he was served divorce papers. By then, his separation from Morgan had lasted months, and their divorce had finally been finalized.
"From the beginning, Renée has supported my sobriety and helped heal my heart," Allen said. "To some, 10 months may seem fast, but our engagement is our personal decision that we have diligently prayed over — not yours."
Celebrating 19 months of sobriety and his engagement, Allen concluded his post with a reminder that negative comments would be blocked.
“To the rest of you beautiful souls who follow and support our journey… Y’ALL ROCK,” he said.
