Crystal Gayle has been forced to cancel her upcoming overseas appearance due to an injury that prevents her from traveling such long distances.
The country music icon, 75, was scheduled to head across the pond this week for the Your Roots Are Showing conference in Ireland. She was also slated to perform a few songs as part of the FOLK iN FUSION: Nashville to Belfast opening concert at Waterfront Hall in Belfast on Tuesday, Jan. 13.
She Is Dealing With a Knee Injury
However, it has been revealed via a press release that Gayle has suffered a torn meniscus in her knee. Though she is currently on the mend, the legendary Grand Ole Opry memberās medical team has not yet cleared her for the road. Doctors have, instead, advised her to refrain from going on any trips as she focuses on her recovery.
Even though the Grammy-winning artist and sister of the late icon Loretta Lynn has been faced with health-related travel limitations, she admits that while she has had to bow out of her upcoming arrangements, her absence doesnāt come without regret.
