Goo Goo Dolls became a part of a memorable NFL moment as the Buffalo Bills bid farewell to their longtime home, Highmark Stadium.
On Sunday, the fans braved the cold and snow to celebrate the team’s final regular-season game against the New York Jets, with a 35-8 victory for the Bills.
Moreover, the game also marked the conclusion of 53 seasons at the stadium as the team prepares to move to its new venue.
Among the postgame highlights, over 70,000 fans joined in singing The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside” and remained in their seats to witness the breathtaking fireworks accompanied by Louis Armstrong’s classic “What a Wonderful World.”

Wrapping up the farewell activities, the Bills presented a heartfelt five-minute tribute video honoring their longtime home.
The touching clip celebrated 53 years at Highmark Stadium and featured the classic hit “Iris.”
As the montage played, every Bills fan sang along to the Goo Goo Dolls’ iconic track, creating a truly unforgettable moment.
Following the tribute, the ’90s rock band expressed their gratitude for having their 1998 song featured in the Bills’ Highmark Stadium farewell.
In an Instagram post, they shared a short clip highlighting Sunday’s game, including players and fans watching the moving video montage.
“What an incredible honor to have ‘Iris’ played as the very last song at @highmark_stadium - home to the @buffalobills for 53 seasons !!!!” the caption reads.

The comment section was flooded with fans sharing their joy and appreciation for the unforgettable stadium send-off.
“No better song to end the stadium with,” one wrote.
“It was amazing. Everybody in the stand was singing the song,” an Instagram user said.
“You Earned it!! Buffalo loves their Goo Goo Dolls!” another added.
Moreover, the majority of the fans agreed that “Iris” was the perfect song for the tribute.

Goo Goo Dolls Tour 2026
Frontman and guitarist John Rzeznik, with bassist Robby Takac, are set to hit the road for an upcoming tour.
The band will embark on their Summer Tour 2026 across the U.S. with special guest Neon Trees. The show will kick off in California in July and conclude in September in Pennsylvania.
Moreover, Goo Goo Dolls will also perform with guest Dashboard Confessional in their Canada Spring 2026 Tour from March to May.
